step-by-step

1.

CONSULTATION

Contact us at (808) 575-7444 or email us at info@mauisunshinesolar.com for a free quote. We’ll schedule time to discuss your needs and take a look at your property and follow-up with a proposal for a system designed just for you.

2.

PAPERWORK

Upon acceptance of our proposal we’ll collect signatures on necessary paperwork for Hawaiian Electric and the County of Maui. A 10% deposit is due at this time.

We’ll generate your electrical drawings and site plan to submit with your application to Hawaiian Electric. On average you can expect a decision from Hawaiian Electric in 6-weeks from the date of submission.

3.

PERMITS

Upon conditional approval from Hawaiian Electric we will submit the County of Maui permit application. Once the permit is issued a 70% materials deposit is due and installation will be scheduled.

Should you live in an area that requires HOA approval, we will work with you to submit the proper documentation to proceed with your installation.

4.

Install

Installation will require attic access and is typically completed within 1 - 1.5 weeks.

Upon completion we will review the system with you, provide you with access to online monitoring (if applicable) and closing documents. The final balance is due at this time.

5.

Wrap-Up

We will work together to schedule County of Maui electrical permit inspection.

Once the County of Maui permit is inspected and closed, we will submit a validation packet to Hawaiian Electric to confirm your installation was completed as in accordance with your conditional approval. Hawaiian Electric may decide that an on-site inspection is necessary at this time.

To finalize your project you will receive communication from Hawaiian Electric to sign your agreement with them.

6.

Service & Maintenance

While PV electric systems require little maintenance, please refer to our Service & Maintenance page for more details on how to get the most out of your system.
