Service Call

Should you experience any issues or have concerns with your solar water heater please contact us for assistance.

Service calls are $250 plus tax or the cost for repairs.

Annual maintenance of your solar water heater will protect your investment and your manufacturer warranties. An annual maintenance check is $500 plus tax for single-tank systems, $600 plus tax for dual-tank systems.

Every 5-years the anode rod in your heater should be replaced. This tune-up service is $700 plus tax for single-tank systems, $800 plus tax for dual-tank systems, less any current rebate offers from Hawai’i Energy. (Current rebate good through June 30, 2024: $200)

Maintenance & Tune-Up Services will only be scheduled between April and September due to industry demands.

Service Inclusions

Maintenance Check:

  • Verify proper settings for electric water heater timer

  • Verify set point on electrical backup

  • Test controller and sensors for proper operation and verify wiring integrity

  • Test for proper operation of circulating pump

  • Inspection/cleaning of internal tank

  • Verify proper operation of temperature gauges

  • Flush tank

  • Flush collectors from hose bib at tank

  • Check system for leaks

  • Check and replace worn insulation

  • Apply UV coating to all existing and new pipe insulation

  • Test for proper operation of check valve and relief valves

  • Check condition of collector(s), collector structure, and roof penetrations

  • Clean collectors

Tune-Up:

  • All of the services included in a Maintenance Check

  • Anode-rod replacement*

*To be eligible for any rebates offered through Hawai’i Energy for a tune-up service, the anode rod must be replaced. If the anode rod cannot be replaced for any reason, you will be charged for a maintenance check.

Enphase Warranty Replacements

On occasion you may find that an Enphase microinverter may no longer be producing energy. We’re here to help. We can request warranty replacements, perform the installation, and update your Enlighten monitoring site. Your warranty will cover the cost of parts, and Sunshine Solar LLC can perform the installation at $300 plus tax for the first 2 units, and $50 plus tax for each additional 2 unit.

ONLINE Monitoring

The online monitoring of your PV electric system is essential to its care, servicing, and warranty. Should you find that your monitoring is offline we can provided assistance.

In-person assistance is $250 plus tax.

Remote assistance from Enphase is free of charge, contact their customer service department at (877) 797-4743.

PANEL CLEANING

Should you find your system needs a good cleaning, we refer our customers to Pacific Panel Cleaners. Based in O’ahu with a team here in Maui.
